New signals on economic activity Growth
than expected by analysts and consultants ...
A higher growth than expected by analysts and consultants showed industrial production in March, compared to the same month of 2010 . Estimates pointed to figures of 20%, but both published by the INE as Sofofa ranked over 30%.
Part of the explanation for these surprising results, which underpinned best expectations for the general growth of the country, is related to the lower base of comparison of the figures, as alluded sector suffered a 17.4% drop in March last year due to earthquake and tsunami that hit south-central area country, intense forestry and fisheries. Discounted
this shock, however, the signals on the progress of the industrial activity in particular and the economy generally remains positive. There is an internal and external demand that continues to fuel the projected GDP this year will exceed 6% and even with the possibility of closer to 7%.
The question that remains, mostly by rising inflation and the eventual impact of the dollar's decline in the export item, is how much sustainability indicators show the face of 2012.
