CJC RESPONSE TO THE APPROVAL OF THE CALL BY THE CIVIC ORDINANCE AYTO. FULL APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE

Faced with the unanimous approval of the Ordinance promotion of civic, social behavior and the protection of public spaces by the plenary session of Logroño Ayuntamieno held on Thursday 3 February, the local committee of Logroño Collectives of Young Communists in La Rioja (CJC) would like to state the following:

1: We reiterate our deep rejection of the so-called "Civic Ordinance, we do not see it as a tool of the system whose ultimate goal is policing of public space, censorship and criminalization.

2: We reject the false statements Councillor in charge of its development, trying to make believe that it is designed to Logroño, which came about from complaints from the population. Such ordinances are occurring throughout the state. On the other hand, the Councillor has totally ignored the views of hundreds of citizens of Logroño repeatedly that we have positioned ourselves against them.

3: We believe that the "Civic Ordinance is based on totally vague and interpretable terms. This abstraction is intended to leave it to the police the license to decide what attitudes are reportable and which not.

4: We denounce this legislation privatizing the public space considering it as a mere transit point between two private spaces, restricting and criminalizing all those activities that the youth of a free way (street music, sports ...).

5: note that this Ordinance in the interests of the capitalist system, which in a crisis, you need to lash out and criticize those voices that can pose a problem and hide the misery to which sentence to ever more numerous.

6: In this regard, the Ordinance to hide its true aims, attitudes and behaviors objectionable mixing (broken lamps, burning containers ...) and established in other legal codes and ordinances, with bans putting up posters, distribute leaflets or collect signatures, and must have these activities with the consent of the City, and in some cases, pay to use public space. Ordinance criminalizes censorship and, therefore, that for many political and social organizations is their only form of expression and transmission of ideas.

7: Finally, this Ordinance criminalizes and try to hide begging, forbidding what for many is their only livelihood. Order on the street, selling handkerchiefs or rummaging through garbage are some of the practices prohibited by this policy. Capitalism tries to blow ordinances invisible what is the result of system itself, such as unemployment and hunger ever-wider layers of society. Example of this is death by hunger and cold of a person occurred last week in the city of Logroño.

face of all this, the Collectives of Young Communists continue on the street, continue in the fight against this Bylaw and the capitalist sitema that supports it. The CJC will continue informing and organizing youth, using the means we deem appropriate.
